Group featured content not staying

I have an issue with a particular group no longer being able to add featured content. I currently have 10 of the 24 available spots for featured content filled. I have tried adding an 11th item. After selecting the item, it doesn't save to the list.

I can remove and reorder the existing featured content. I can even add back an item that I removed from featured content. But if it is not currently on the featured content list, it simply will not add.

Support's recommendations are:

1. Try another browser: I've done this in multiple browsers and on multiple devices.

2. Clear cache, cookies, history: I've done this as well.

3. Create a new group and add all the content again: This is far from an ideal option. The group has 100+ items and many individuals who rely on it. It seems that too often, ESRI's solution is not to find and fix the bug but to just recommend starting over, whether its a group, an instant app that stops working or feature layers or web maps that just plain quit working.

Has anyone experienced this issue and found a solution that doesn't involve burning the group to the ground and starting over with a brand new group?

UPDATE: After some more tinkering, if I share a new item to the group that hasn't previously been shared to the group, I can add that to the featured content. However, if I unshare a current item and then reshare that same item, it cannot be added to featured content. So for some reason, all currently shared items seem to be permanently blocked from being featured content if they aren't already featured.

Hello, have you been able to find a solution for this issue? I'm having the same problem. I tried creating a new group, but that group doesn't let me add ANY webmaps at all now. I am able to add dashboards, however.

Sorry for the delayed response. Support could not help me find a solution. They doubled down on the "create a new group and re-add all the content." They said they couldn't detect any bugs, but clearly there is a bug somewhere. Very frustrating.
