Geocoding for free on AGOL?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering what the limits to geocoding are on a public AGOL account. I thought that for a free. public account, you couldn't geocode at all. But, I tested this by dragging in a CSV with 105 addresses into the map (on my public account), and they successfully geocoded!

What does this mean? Is there a limit to the how many can by freely geocoded? Is it just that the points aren't permanent?

I have been looking for more information on this and haven't found much, so I would appreciate any help on this!

Thank you!

Hi Lauren,

From our documentation (CSV, TXT, and GPX files—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation ) -

"When you add a CSV or TXT file with addresses while signed in with a public account, or when you are not signed in, 250 features can be added directly to the map. CSV and TXT files with more addresses than this must be published as a hosted feature layer."

Hope this helps,

-Peter
