Following the Tutorial

I'm working through one of the webinars to learn more about ArcGISonline, but when I go to upload the first file even, it doesn't work, not like the show in the tutorial.  Is there some setting within my organization that would prevent me from uploading data?  But if that is the case, I thought under "my content" I could upload data for me.  Help!

Do you get an error message?

If you are uploading a zipped shapefile I found this workflow caused problems:

1. export the shapefile
2. create a folder
3. move shapefile into folder
4. zip folder

But this workflow worked:

1. export the shapefile
2. select the shapefile components and zip (without moving to a folder first)
