Edit tool - Create features > filter types

Has anyone used the Create features > filter types section in the Edit tool?

It could be because we aren't using big data sets and few layers, but not sure what it is for. I can't find any documentation on it either.

If anyone's used it, could you post an example of how you've used it here?
