I am lost at figuring out why I have Data Source Error in the dashboard? The previous GIS Tech before me created the dashboard and I need to make an update after receiving new data. Does anyone know why there is an error?

Hi @ErinHoover,

What have you checked in order to identify the issue:

  1. Is the data source a hosted or reference feature service from a .sde database?
  2. Is the table from a data expression that has the source ID incorrect?
  3. Is the dashboard created with data that is no longer shared to a group that once had access?
  4. If you add the data to a new dashboard, do you see the same kinds of errors?

Please let us know so it can help us further identify where the issue lies. Sometimes these are multifaceted issues so there could be a number of causes. Some ranging from just pointing to the right data to not having access to the data or how the dashboard was created.

It looks like your dashboard is using Arcade that is not valid. In the values tab, expand the Advanced formatting box and look for red squiggly lines that indicate an syntax issue with the Arcade. Ensure that the fields reference in the Arcade exist in your data, and ensure each column return statement name matches the names used in your table (note that for grouped values these names will be slightly different than the field names in your data).
