Can't add data from ArcGIS online to my map

I am using ArcMap 10.2.2. When I go to "Add Data From ArcGIS Online" and click "add"on something, nothing happens. It has always worked for me in the past, but for the last two weeks, it hasn't. The ArcGIS online window closes, but nothing is added to my map. I am signed in to ArcGIS online, and I have tried different datasets, including ones that I know have worked for me before. I don't have any problem adding basemaps or web map services. Has anyone seen this, or does anyone have an idea on how to fix it?

Same issue in 2022. ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.1. Clicking "add" closes the ArcGIS Online modal window, but does adds nothing to my map.

This isn't true for every resource. Just most of them. It doesn't seem to matter who the owner of the resource is. It also doesn't matter if I use a VPN or not.

Having this problem too in 10.8.2. Spent 1 hr on tech support and still couldn't get it resolved. The next suggestion was to try disabling all firewalls / security but I doubt it will work.
