ArcGIS Online reporting incorrect tile counts on import from tile package
Hello,
We host many of our tile cached layer in ArcGIS Online. The process involves setting up a hosted layer endpoint in AGOL, then uploading tile packages, then importing the tiles from the TPKX to the endpoint. For each TPKX, we know exact count of tiles in it, as we have a script that counts all tiles in all bundles. Since recently (this month?) we noticed high inaccuracy in the numbers reported by the import process. Even if we re-import the tiles from the same source tile package, we can never get the same number of tiles imported. Also the number, since recently, never matches the expected count. For example, after multiple consecutive attempts of exact same import operation, from the same source Item:
Moreover the correct number of tiles is actually 237606400, which is -smaller- then the numbers reported above. Some months ago the reported numbers did match what the expected number was, but its no longer the case. It feels something has changed in AGOL.
Question to the community:
do you pay attention to the tile counts? Do you count the tiles in your tile packages to cross check the process? All above operations were reported as Success, but all actually gave different results.
