Hi All,

I was curious if you could add a text box onto a map like you can in PRO or ArcMap? I know this is possible with pop-ups and storymaps; but just for a generic web map with informational purposes is there a way to hover a text box with a neatline and background over a part of the map with text or other content within? Thinking back to the ESRI user conferences and Cartography MOOC this has been something on my mind and I am eager to put the idea to use if it exists.

Many thanks,

Hi @GIS_Fox

You could add map notes (using Map Viewer Classic) or add Sketch Layer using the new Map Viewer.

For Map Viewer Classic:

For new Map Viewer:
