What type of an account is best for an individual that will allow him to publish data, so as to be able to use it in Scene. I simply want to be able to view my own data in the 3D Scene.

Per this discussion https://community.esri.com/message/764807-re-how-to-add-feature-layer-in-my-content-to-a-scene?comme...
I found out I could not publish data. I'm new to ArcGis online, but not GIS, any help on accounts is much appreciated.

Hi Dan, sorry for the delay! I followed the link and have never actually 'set' anything up account-wise, as in I've made no changes from just the basic personal account. I won't have a group or the need to share data, or the need for a site. I would just like to upload and publish content and use screenshots of Scenes I create with simple vector data.

I once had an account with a university and made many maps, storymaps etc, shared content and data through that, however I no longer have access to that.

I've since made a personal account, went to Scene and maps and attempted to add data, which I can with anything but Scene as I am unable to 'publish' data of any type as none of my content will show a 'publish' option.

Is it possible to publish data for personal use without creating a site and a group?

Now I am confused a bit... Are you referring to ArcScene? just to view data in 3D?

In arcmap, the 3D analyst is used

You can install ArcGIS PRO and view in 3D if you have the data

Yeah it is much more confusing than it should be, but I wish it wasn't.

1. I'd just like to be able to add data/content I already have uploaded, to Scene, the 3D Scene here on ArcGIS Online, Scene Viewer

There are thousands of pieces of data searchable and addable to a 'global' or 'local' scene- points, roads, trails etc etc, that other users have published.

2. I simply have my own set of points/lines already uploaded and can see in in the regular 2D map viewer, I want to add mine to the Scene online.

Not being able to even after I got them all showing as 'Feature Layers' which is how they show when you search and add, led to this conversation https://community.esri.com/message/764807-re-how-to-add-feature-layer-in-my-content-to-a-scene?comme...    and that is where I learned that I did not have the ability to 'publish' my uploaded 'feature layers'.

Which led me to realize it must be an account issue, I cannot for the life of me figure out what I need to be able to do this simple process.

3. I just want to know how people publish theirs and then how I can too.

I suspect you want a Public Account since you aren't part of an organization (see the bottom)

Thank you Dan, I will make one shortly and reply here as to where it gave me the ability to publish data and access it with Scene.

I'm just about demoralized. I made the mistake of trying to link accounts and then was blocked from logging in for an hour. I don't know either.

I have created public accounts with two different accounts and I still am unable to 'publish' anything.

I wish an ESRI support person would help out.

They don't monitor geonet... you have to contact them through the support link at the top of the page

Ok, thanks, I've had them respond before, they were the ones that told me I should have a publish option in the item details, when I told them I did not they bailed haha.

There is another person trying to figure this out too https://community.esri.com/message/773288-re-how-can-i-get-my-data-from-arcmap-up-into-arcgis-online...

I appreciate you responding and trying to help me, cheers!
