The option to bulk enable or disable delete protection would be highly beneficial to all users.
As an Administrator of an organizational ArcGIS Online subscription, it would be convenient to select multiple items and bulk apply the delete protection to content, particularly content which is shared with the organization or the public. This helps mitigate the risk of users accidentally deleting items and compromising operational items.
For example, a public-facing web application could have 50 contributing items which may also require public-sharing enabled. If one of these items is accidentally deleted, it could compromise the operational web application.
At the moment users are required to visit each item's details page, click on 'Settings' and turn on the checkbox. This is a cumbersome task, particularly when presented with hundreds of items which are not 'delete protected' by default.
If there is enough support for this idea, consideration could also be given to bulk enabling/disabling 'Authoritative' and 'Deprecated' stamps. This functionality is probably most useful for Administrators in the first instance.
I've run into this very issue where we have legacy content that users should have deleted ages ago and never did. They also set the delete protection on every single item. Having the ability to bulk disable the delete protection would be really useful.
Agree. Finding that there are legacy files that had a delete protection assigned to them (old StoryMap Tour templates), but through the interface, there's now way to bulk disable the delete protection.
