check/uncheck Trim Polygo

Can anyone tell me when to check/uncheck Trim Polygon option in Service Area Layer Properties dialog box while doing Network Analyst problems? By default Trim Polygon values comes as 100 m. Shall we need to change it according to our problem?

You can adjust the 100 meter based on how big of a polygon you are generating. If you are making 100 miles or 2 hour service areas you could set it to 500 meters. It is all up to your needs. You can turn it off but the outer ring can odd shapes in area where there are not too many other edges near by.
