Hello,

What are some of the best practices in customizing alerts on certain mapservices that are problematic (slow performance, lots of critical alerts in ArcGIS Monitor 2023 Collection dashboard) ?

Out of the box, each components by default collects Averages, Std Deviation, Min and Max but do not include Aggregreates at 75%, 90% 95% etc..

Also which of the metric name(s) above to modify to produce a meaningful Aggregate at 95% ?

Thank you!

It seems like you are raising several points:

  1. Alert thresholds recommendation.  For this, we’d need to look at a historical data and define a baseline.  If you have few services, you can use UI.  If more, perhaps Excel Report would be more effective, see https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-monitor-blog/excel-report-for-arcgis-monitor/ba-p/1291933
  2. Dynamic baselining.  This feature is on the product road map.
  3. Percentile stats.  This feature is on the product road map
  4. “Root cause analysis” .  Several analysis improvements will be available in upcoming 2023.3 and in 2024.  We’ll share some examples of analysis to help with troubleshooting availability, errors, performance, resource utilization and load
