I'm probably doing something wrong--still very much trying to figure things out. I made a hillshade map in Pro using one of John Nelson's super cool tutorials. It has a lot of blend modes and whatnot. I also added a vector layer of dissolved streets to it. My ultimate goal is to open it in Photoshop and do some more tweaking. What is the best way to go from Pro to Photoshop? I thought I had to bring an AIX into Illustrator then save as a PSD file. But, when I do this I have two issues. When I open the AIX in Illustrator, the imagery is darker and it looks like I lost some of the hillshading. I confirmed that the transparencies from Pro did port to Illustrator and that my backgrounds in Pro are transparent. What am I doing wrong?

And, when I export the AIX to a PSD file and open in Photoshop, the canvas is much larger than the actual content and is situated in the lower left portion of the canvas which tells me I probably did something wrong. I am able to crop it, but seems like it shouldn't do this.

lots of options during export that may give you different outcomes, what did you try (eg. map or layout, extents, colormap, compression)?

Maybe one day I'll learn the art of dealing with color but your question did point me in the right direction. I played around a little with Pro and Illustrator's color management settings and decided to not manage the colors in Pro and chose this setting in Illustrator--which seems to have done the trick with the color issues. Still haven't figured out the extent problem but I am pretty sure I've got the extent set too large somewhere. I'll keep digging. Thank you! Also--what do you mean by 'sort of retired'?

I am not sure how your skills are but I got to learn how to use it in Design a map with ArcGIS Pro Adobe Illustrator .  This might help you to understand a bit better.

The link is  https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/design-a-map-with-arcgis-pro-and-adobe-illustrator/

When  you get there, scroll down to Bring the map into Adobe Illustrator and it explains how to do this and read from there and go on.....

In  Illustrator, Did you turn on your ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud plug-in in Illustrator on their Menu "Extensions" and log in to ArcGIS Online ?

That should help you guide it there.
