How to view (not repair) broken links in ArcMap?

Hello,

I have an old map that has links that are no longer working. The problem is I do not know the original file name. Is there a way to view the old "broken" link?

I am NOT looking for how to repair broken links. If I knew the file I was trying to navigate to, I could repair it. Instead, I want to view the original source data that ArcMap says it can no longer find. When I navigate to Properties-> Source, there is no available data in the "data source" box that indicates the name of the original file once the file is broken. Is there another way to view this?

If there is a better group or location to publish this question please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Nicole,

Within the Catalog window in ArcMap, right-click on the mxd file and select Set Data Sources.  This will open a form that lists the Layers and their Current data source.  So that will show you where ArcMap would expect to find the data, once the mxd is opened.
