Exporting ENC S-64 and/or DirectENC to Shapefiles

Understand that the ArcGIS Maritime (for ArcGIS Pro & Enterprise) can support different S-100 product specifications e.g. S-64.

However, I am unable to find any relevant documentations online on exporting coastal outlines and shallow waters from ENC S-64 and/or DirectENC to Shapefiles.

Wonder if this is possible in ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Enterprise using ArcGIS Maritime?

Thanks.

Hi Byang.

S-64 is a set of sample data for testing ECDIS display. Some of it is encrypted, and cannot be imported into the geodatabase for that reason. However, there are also unencrypted S-57 datasets as well that come with S-64.

To bring S-57 electronic chart data into a geodatabase, you can use the Import S-57 to Geodatabsase geoprocessing tool.

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/maritime/import-s-57-to-geodatabase.htm

If you only want to import specific types of features, there is a mapping file that is used by the importer and exporter tools, which determines which types of features are mapping into and out of the geodatabase.

Otherwise, by default, the tool will import all data that is present in the S-57 dataset. From there, you can extract the coastlines, or any other features you want, into other formats, like shp.

Hope this helps, if you have more questions please contact me at maritime@esri.com

Thanks - Craig
