Upload KML using sharing/kml

Working on custom widget for uploading files. Specifically for KML, I have it working with a Geoprocessing service, however I want to utilise the sharing/kml functionality in ArcGIS Enterprise (www.yourportal.com/portal/sharing/kml)

I have the functionality to upload the file, however in order to 'post' to the sharing/kml I need to pass the kmlString. Has anyone been able to do this? Converting the kml file on the fly to a kmlString (Encoded kml document body.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
