GeoRssLayer: Can secure data be added to map as a GeoRssLayer?

If I understand the documentation right, the url for XML needs to be publicly available for it to be loaded as a layer on to the web map.  How can we implement secured data as a GeoRSSLayer?  Can url behind the enterprise firewall be added to web map as GeoRSSLayer?
