Editor Widget Woes

I am trying to build a simple app using the new editor widget (for now, just for points). I can add and delete points without issue. But I can not move or edit the attributes of existing points. On-screen it looks as if they are moved and updated, but panning or refreshing the map removes all edits.

I am using ArcSDE geodatabase on SQL 2005. I have registered the feature class as versioned (move edits to base both checked and not checked). I have given ArcGISSOC permissions in SQL and have set that user as the anonymous access user for the virtual directory in IIS... (not sure how much of that was necessary)

Any ideas as to what i am missing?

Unknown to me until now, the feature class I was trying to edit had M values checked on. Although this point file was not using M values for anything, the presence of that is what was causing my 'woes'.
