We are looking to start using a locally hosted version of the JavaScript API.  Does anyone know if ESRI regularly updates or patches any of the versions including the current version of the ArcGIS JavaScript API?  If so, how do I find out when a new build for a specific version is available to download?

Thanks,
Josh

Josh,

A new version of the API is released quarterly. You can find the download on the esri download site.

I understand that new versions are released regularly but, as I stated, does anyone know if ESRI regularly updates or patches any of the versions including the current version of the ArcGIS JavaScript API?

Updating does not happen unless there is some severe issue (very irregular). Normally bug will be fixed in the next quarterly release.

Okay, thanks.  Is there any way to get notified from ESRI in the rare event that an update occurs?

Not that I am aware of.

I am hoping someone from ESRI on the JavaScript API team can provide a definitive answer to my inquiry.

Updates are announced in a variety of ways. Esri blog posts, typically a Geonet post, Twitter.
