Add KML Layer

I'm working with the sample located at: https://github.com/Esri/basic-viewer-template which pulls maps from ArcGIS.com using an ID number for the map. I need to convert it to utilize a KML file in the same directory instead.

I've found the sample located at: https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/jssamples/layers_kml.html which works loads the KML file as expected so I just need to integrate the code from this into the template that I am using.

What I have so far is located at: www3.bryguy.org/Map Viewer

Most of my experience is with C++ and Visual Basic Script but I'm pretty good at deciphering any coding language so even if you're only able to provide basic assistance that would be helpful.

Anybody able to assist with this? Still haven't had any luck getting it to work the way I'd like.
