Hello,

I have some shared Insights works pages setting up with daily auto refresh (auto update). The update works great, however, every time after update, the shared data functionality is lost. I have to manually reshared every page to check "Enable Viewers to Export as Data" portion. Can this be resolved? I have an older version of Inisghts 2021.1.3603.

Thanks!

Andrea

Hello Andrea,

I'm sorry you're running into this issue. I looked into it and there was a bug that was logged for the same workflow that you are running, and the bug was fixed in the 2023.1 release of ArcGIS Insights. Here is the public page for the Bug:
https://support.esri.com/en-us/bug/enabled-export-options-for-viewers-are-removed-from-car-bug-00015...

I know upgrading is not always a straight forward process, but is that something your organization is willing to consider? Would you happen to know the ArcGIS Enterprise version you're on? Here is the link to a helpful chart that indicates all the compatible ArcGIS Insights and Enterprise versions:
https://doc.arcgis.com/en/insights/latest/administer/enterprise-compatibility.htm

I am currently not seeing any other workaround for this bug apart from the manual re-share step that you  have already tried.

Best,
Mai

Hello Mai,

Thank you for your quick response! Our ArcGIS enterprise version is 10.8.1, the highest compatible Insights version is 2022.1, which still not going to solve the problem. We are looking into the possibility of upgrade enterprise version, until then I guess I will keep manually reshared every page to check "Enable Viewers to Export as Data" portion.

Thanks!

Andrea

I hope you can get the upgrade soon! I apologize that there isn't a more convenient workaround for the bug. Please do know that if you happen to have any Insights licenses on ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and are able to switch your workflow to that organization, then you wouldn't encounter the bug because AGOL is always updated to latest Insights release.

Is there a way to update the data share after auto refresh using python code? Any existing python code available?
