I am trying to figure out how to configure the form in the Space Planner application that pops up from the Edit button in the units pop up.

After a whole lot of messing around, I finally figured out how to configure the pop up but I cannot figure out how to edit which fields appear in the Edit form pop up. We need to restrict this so our users do not accidently edit certain data, but we would like them to be able to change room names, parent departments and make notes (not comments), but other things such as room numbers, gross area, and restriction level should not be changed by our users.

Is there a way to do this? I have tried creating a form in the map used by the Space Planner app and in a map with the plan's WFL, but it does not carry over. It does not seem that I can create a form just for the WFL, it needs to be within a map. There are no form settings within the Space Planner application settings that I can find either.

@MollyE I figured it out! Open up the item page for the hosted feature layer that has your editable Indoors layers. Go to the Data tab, then the Fields menu on the left. Open up each field that you want to make un-editable in the Space Planner app and uncheck the 'Allow Attribute Editing' option on the far right.

Now when users create a new Plan in the Space Planner app, those fields will no longer appear in the editing pop-up. Any previously created Plans will probably need to be deleted and remade for the changes to apply.

I haven't gotten that far in the process yet but have you tried doing it through the Web Map -> Occupants layer -> Configure Editing -> Forms ? (That's what I was planning (or hoping) would work for that sort of thing, because we have the same need)

I have tried that, both within the map used by the Space Planner and with another map that uses the WFL that is created by the plans in the Space planner app. Neither had any effect unfortunately. I did it for the Units layer though, we are not really utilizing the Occupants layer as of right now. We have another system for employee management so we are trying to get this fully fleshed out with just unit/room management first before adding people in.

I was able to finally get some fields to disappear from the form by making them non-editable in the WFL created by the plan, I had previously been messing around with the layers used within the Space Planner map. I still can't seem to get some fields we would like in there to appear though, ie our unit's Name field for when a room changes from an Admin Office to a Faculty Office.

I do wonder if I created the form in the map before I created the plan, if that would work. 🤔 I will try to mess around with that later and report back.*

*Edit: It did not work.

@MollyE I'm now wondering if this is a bug, as it's referenced in the documentation that configuring editable fields in the web map should work. Or perhaps it was intended to work with Map Viewer Classic. I suspect that the Space Planner app was developed before the new Map Viewer was even a thing, given it is the under Configurable Apps group (which have since been retired).

I thought I saw elsewhere that the Space Planner app was getting a redesign soon and that would be under it's own sub-site (similar to the Field Maps Designer website, or Hub). If true, hopefully it respects the editable Form configurations from the new Map Viewer the same way that Field Maps does.

Oh wow, awesome! I just tried that and it worked. Thank you!

I didn't even have to delete the previously created plan, I just did the same for the feature layer that was created when creating that plan.
