I have created web map with Indoors data and also Indoors viewer. Floor filtering, App Launch actions etc work fine. But when I duplicate Units feature layer in web map and change the name of the duplicated feature layer (to visualize different attribute of Units feature layer) then Directions, Set Home etc options are not shown in the info panel in Indoors Viewer app when I click on a feature.

1. With options in Indoors Viewer info panel

2. Without option in Indoors Viewer info panel

It is interesting that at some point I created a duplicate with different name of Units feature layer in web map which has the options in info panel but I can not recreate it.

Can someone verify that info panel options appear only with one feature layer named "Units"? Duplicating and changing Units feature layer name in web map will not give these options in Indoors Viewer app info panel?

How could I add multiple Units feature layers with different names and symbology (to visualize different attributes of Units feature layer) with preserving the options (Directions, Set Home etc) in info panel in Indoors Viewer app?

@OttK if you want to duplicate the Units layer and give it a different name with different symbology and you want the buttons to show up in the info panel then you need to create a category for that layer.

You can also consider using point layer and symbology to show the status or sensor readings and place it in the middle of the rooms so that way you do not need a duplicate Units layer. You can keep unit polygon symbology consistent in your map and you don't have to maintain different layers in the map.

Hello @OttK. Yes, the Indoor Viewer app expects only one Units layer with the exact name which is described Note section of the documentation for Prepare a map for Indoor Viewer.

In order to suggest a workable solution for your use case, may I know if you want to duplicate the Units layer with different symbology as you intend to make just one app but for different users who can then only make the one Unit layer relevant to them visible to suit their needs?

There are a few possible alternatives that I can suggest once you provide some more info.

Thanks for the quick reply.

My use case is some what as you described. At the moment user needs to see Units symbolized by room use type and I've also added near real time temperature, CO2 and relative humidity device readings to Units layer and would like to symbolize these values also. For example If the readings are in a specific range then room polygon is green. These two layers user wants to toggle on and off in Indoors Viewer.

But what about that one duplicated Units layer that I've previously created and that has additional options in the info panel? This kind of shows that adding multiple Units layers to Indoors Viewer with additional options in info panel is some how possible? 🤔
