It would be nice to have a geoprocessing tool that functions just like the "Update Occupant Features" tool, but the target feature class would be a feature class used to store asset information rather than the Occupant feature class.

For example, I have a large table of assets (printers, computers, lab benches, cameras) that I want to track in Indoors. Each asset is already associated with a Unit ID from the Units feature class. It would be great to run a single tool that would create point features within the correct unit based on the value in the Unit ID field.

This can be accomplished through relationship classes, joins, and the "Feature to Point" tool, but it would be great if there were a single tool within the Indoors tool set.

Yeah, it's a good idea.  Are you thinking that there would be a point for each asset dropped into the centre of the room?  When you say you have a table of assets, is that a table managed within GIS or external?

Many clients I work with manage their assets in a 3rd party system/database and so we have to have pipelines or similar to connect that data within Indoors GIS.  I've found relating assets to rooms tends to work well and with Dashboards or Experience Builder you can give users the ability view/filter/search etc.  I'd probably only go for point representation if an assets specific location needed including, e.g. fire safety equipment.

More than happy for you to create the above tool, I'm sure myself and others would find it useful 🙂
