Default instance type for Image Server

For ArcGIS Server, installed as part of ArcGIS Enterprise, the default instance type is "Shared".  When we installed all of our AGE components, we left the default settings in place.

Today I noticed that our two image servers each hvae the default instance type set to "dedicated".

Is "dedicated" the default for Image Server, unlike other ArcGIS Server roles?   Is there a reason to leave it as is?  My instinct is to change it to "shared", but mayube this is by design?

It appears that the way to set shared or dedicated for Image Services is via the Server Admin rather than Server Manager

Did you ever the determine the best option - dedicated or shared for Image Services?
