I have need for opening applications in the Gallery card on Hub in a new tab - but it adds the Hub page header every time. Most of these applications existed prior to us using Hub, and the header was not considered in the color choice and layout design of the apps. It squishes things, and I'd like the option to not include the header.

@BrianRollison Though I never made any additional changes to the settings, at some point in the last few months my issue disappeared and the PDFs started to appear pretty much like I was hoping the would.
Hey Brian, I know this is an old thread, but we are having the same issues with Enterprise Sites on 11.0 where we have disabled embeded apps and they still open within the site.
@BrianRollison I am using ArcGIS Hub. We are having this issue as well. In a gallery, I can click on one card and it will open the webapp outside of hub. In the same gallery, I can click on another card and it will open the webmap inside of hub. Why aren't all of the cards in a gallery acting the same?
Here are my Interaction settings:
Similar to @ArmstKP . I am using ArcGIS Hub through AGOL and 'web apps' open without the header but 'web maps' seem to open in a simple interface instead of the fully fledged web map. Clicking the edit button in the simple interface, opens up map viewer classic instead of the new map viewer.
The longer route is to click on 'View Full Details' --> Click on 'Open in ArcGIS Online' --> Click 'Open in Map Viewer'. This is a lot of clicks.
