How do you publish tables as a service that can be shared as open data?

I am trying to publish stand alone tables as services that I will then share with my Online/Open Data account.  When I try to publish the service from ArcMap the Share As Service option is grayed out.

Is there another way to do this?

Hi Cassidy,

If you have the tables as CSVs you can upload them to ArcGIS Online via the web interface.

Add item -> from my computer -> select CSV -> check Publish this file as a hosted layer -> use table -> add item.

We also support straight CSVs if they are under 5 MB -- making a table service is not required.

I guess we are looking for a way to publish non-spatial, tabular information without having to manually update the tables on a regular basis. 

Is there a way to do this with the esri open data platform or are tabular updates only manual at this point?
