I was trying to use data.json to get datasets for instances under *.opendata.arcgis.com, doing something like here. I can access the "tags" attached to these datasets, but I want to make sure if I can understand them as "categories".
For example, Socrata has both "category" and "tags" features for each dataset. The "categories" are the larger groups the dataset falls in (like Education, Public Safety), while the tags are usually the key words that people can search for.
Following this thread, my understanding is that the tags in ArcGIS Open Data are equivalent to categories, and there is not another "category" feature.
Can I double check with you guys or if you could point me to the right direction of getting the categories?
