As a US-based Hub site manager, you need to update your site basemap to use a United States basemap (for example, to include label for Gulf of America).

Configuring your Hub basemap involves settings in both ArcGIS Online and your Hub sites.

In ArcGIS Online, confirm your organization settings for Region and Maps and Scene. Then, for each ArcGIS Hub site you manage, update the basemap setting appropriately. Here’s how:

ArcGIS Online

Organization > Settings > General (using account with appropriate permissions, e.g., Administrator)

Set Organization default > Region to United States.

Update the Maps and Scene settings as desired (as needed, you can still change the default extent to be global).

ArcGIS Hub

Open the Hub site (using account with appropriate permissions) and choose Edit layout, then select Settings from the Customize side panel.

Select Set basemap

From the drop-down menu, choose “Topographic (Vector)” as the custom basemap.

Then Save settings:

When ready, select Save layout, Publish layout, then View published to see the result:

The updated basemap is now applied to the catalog location map facet (/search), details view (/about), and explore content views (/explore).

TIP: To set the site extent, for example to zoom in on the US in the location map facet, go to Manage site and update the Location in the site Details, or in the ArcGIS Online item settings. This will also make your site discoverable by search engines using location-based search!
