I've upgraded ESRI Map for SharePoint from 2.1.1 to 3.0 and a problem has arised...

Then I select Edit Web Part I get several Extension Load Failed and in the error messages I can se references to the extensions. The problem is that the url to the extensions are wrong. I've seen that several lists have new names in 3.0 (renamned from ArcGIS... to ESRI...). This seems to have created the problems for me. I've tried uninstalling but there seems to be some configuration remaining making the error reappear then installing.

Anyone got a clue? Or is more information needed?

Regards

Did you find a resolution to the issue?

We have recently upgraded from 2.1 to 3.0 and the ArcGIS web part is now looking for our extensions in the wrong SPList.  Previously "Esri Maps Extensions" now it wants them in "ArcGIS Mapping Extensions", a list that does not exist.

Hi HelloEveryone,

Yes, it's solved. The bad news is I don't really remember how :-o...but I look thru some old mails and found this tip from ESRI support. It could maybe give you a clue.

Good luck

The document library that contains the Extensions is called "Esri Maps Extensions".  It used to be called ArcGIS Mapping Extensions.

In the past, we have not seen this issue will all upgrades; however, when I upgraded my installation of ArcGIS for SharePoint from 2.1.1 to Esri Maps for SharePoint 3.0 I encountered this issue.  Below are the steps that I took before the issue was resolved in my case.

1)  Create a new document library in the SharePoint site called ArcGIS Mapping Extensions
2)  Copy all the extensions in the document library Esri Maps Extensions to the new document library
3)  Clear the browser cache, close the browser, and then attempt to open a site page with an ArcGIS Map Web Part
4)  Start editing the ArcGIS Map Web Part.  In my case, there was still an error message, but it was different.
5)  Delete the extensions that you copied to the new document library you created and delete the document library
6)  Clear the browser cache, close the browser, and then attempt to open a site page with an ArcGIS Map Web Part
7)  Start editing the ArcGIS Map Web Part.  In my case, at this point the error messages went away.

I believe that the step that solved the issue was clearing the browser cache as all of the web parts, new and old, started working properly after this point.
