It appears that at some time on Feb 5th, 2014, ESRI shut down the Geocode Server at: https://tasks.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Locators/TA_Address_NA/GeocodeServer

We located a blog http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2013/04/08/legacy-geocoding-and-routing-services-at-httptasks-arcg... indicating that ESRI was planning on doing this.

We compensated for this eventuality by setting our sharepoint sites up using the Bing virtual earth location service.  The problem is the ArcGIS Location column (we are using version 2.0.0.404) appears to require that service endpoint as part of it's initialization process.

Has anybody experienced the same issue and discovered a work around.

Surely one of our genius ESRI gurus can respond and advise.
