Hello

Our organization is using ArcGIS for SharePoint to display photos of construction projects based on their geographic coordinates.

Users are able to modify these coordinates directly through the SharePoint grid. However, when they select the “Edit Locations” option from the menu, the edit button (pencil icon) does not appear.

We suspect that ArcGIS for SharePoint applies permissions at the document library level rather than at the folder level. In this case, the user has write permissions for a specific folder, but not for the entire library.

Is this the expected behavior? Or is there a way to configure ArcGIS for SharePoint to recognize folder-level permissions?

Thanks in advance

Hello @CID --

Thanks for posting your question. Currently, we apply the permission at the document library level and we do not drill-down to the permissions of each SharePoint list item or a document library item (files or folders). But we will definitely look into this and I will get back to you with an ETA in the near future. In the meantime, would you be able to post this as a new "idea" on Esri Community (https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-for-sharepoint-ideas/idb-p/arcgis-for-sharepoint-ideas) ?

Also, would you be able to share your name, the name of the company whom you represent? I would really appreciate if you could send me the details in a private message.

Thanks & Regards,

Raaj

Thank you for your response.

I’ve now posted this issue as a new idea for consideration.
