Unable to open - user cancelled error.

I’m having trouble getting a web map to load consistently in Field Maps on my iPhone. I work for a large organization that uses an ArcGIS Enterprise Portal. I am the owner of the web map and it has been configured for offline use. I frequently get the following error “unable to open - user cancelled error.” After a few tries the map will usually load. It does have some large datasets in it, maybe that’s part of the issue but I’m not sure. I don't have any issues downloading offline areas. Interestingly, I’m seeing a lot of unregister lines in the log for layers which are not in the map I am trying to open (or in any of the maps that I use).

I believe the relevant entry in the log is regarding network connection lost and error domain code =-1005. I have issues on Wi-Fi and on cellular data so I do not believe it is actually a lost network connection.  Unfortunately, I can't post the troubleshooting log here due to security. Our GIS team suggests that it might be due to the size of the layers in the map. I'm wondering if anyone has different ideas.

Unfortunately I have had no help resolving the issue here or from our GIS office. It seems to be intermittent, which is frustrating and makes troubleshooting difficult.

Because of this error I am unable to GPS points in the field. Hopefully this isn't something on our end as the normal troubleshooting/problem fixing methods yields no results. At least from my perspective, as a GIS Tech., this issue seems to be on the back-end and not something we could fix.

I have tried two separate GPS units that are both Trimble and still have issues. They aren't showing this error anymore but still in the same vein. 03/27/2024 9:00 AM CST

I am experiencing the same issue. Routinely the first time I will open an online map I get this error message, with it usually loading the second or third time of asking. As above, I have inspected the logs for this specific issue and the only messages displaying for this issue are along the lines of "[UNREGISTER] FAILED ..." and then it will mention a layer that is not even in the map in question. Interestingly, there are about 5 log messages all mentioning unregister failed, and all of the layers that are mentioned in these messages are hosted. For context, we are running ArcGIS Enteprise 11.1 and primarily publish layers referencing data in our registered SQL Server database and so very rarely do we have hosted layers in our web maps.

Sounds like a similar set up that I had. We are using enterprise 10.9.1 and all of the data layers in the map were registered services, not hosted layers. I never got to the bottom of this issue, it just stopped happening.
