I have two versions (old and revised) of an arc map created in PRO in my companies arc online space.  I used the old 'editabe' version to create the new map thinking it would automatically retain the editable nature, but when I was in the field I discovered that was not the case.  I can't remember how to make the map editable...i can make the layers editable, but the maps details still shows 'read-only'.

Have you unchecked "Use in ArcGIS Collector" in the web map settings? See my post from today. Just discovered this bug. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-field-maps-questions/bug-found-don-t-uncheck-quot-use-in-arcgis...

David this was so helpful, thank you. Interestingly the "Use in ArcGIS Collector" wasnt there when I first created the map but showed up later. I'm very glad you posted this tip.

We have also found that if you make the feature layer editable after the web map is created, it will show as read only. We went back in and resaved the web map and this resolved the issue
