Hi all,

I'm using a  Bad Elf Flex Mini Extreme with RTK corrections from the Massachussetts DOT  CORS (MACORS) with Field Maps.  When I first open the field map it warns me that the coordinate system of my map (WGS 84) may be incompatible.  So I dove under the hood in the Field Maps app to create a new location profile for MACORS.  I set GNSS coordinate system to NAD 1983 2011(6318) but I'm stuck where app wants to know the projection and datum transformation.

Thanks!

Paul

Thank You!  I received the following from a user in Mass.

MaCORS (MADOT-maintained) RTK network:

    1. Select the same datum used by the RTK network.
  1.       For MaCORS select – GCS NAD 1983 2011 (tip: search for 6318)
    1. Select the coordinate system used by the map:
  1.       Select the option – WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (tip: search for 3857)
        1. Be careful not to select 3785.
        2. This will ALWAYS be the map coordinate system!
    1. Zoom into the area where the GPS will be used.
  1.       NOTE – zoom into the state of MA.  Select Next.
    1. Select the Datum Transformation:
  1.       Select the first option – WGS_1984_(ITRF08)_To_NAD_1983-2011
  2.       Select Done
  •       Name the Profile… (i.e. Quabbin-RTK)

The datum transformation we are using is "~WGS_1984_(ITRF08)_To_NAD_1983_2011 + WGS_1984_(ITRF00)_To_NAD_1983" USA - CONUS and Alaska; PRVI + USA - CONUS and Alaska; PRVI. I had to call a trimble rep a while back when setting up the profile for our R2. We recently got some Flex Minis and a Flex Extreme unit. We are using them with this same tranformation and they are working very well on the Flex units.

Awesome, we are in a different state, but it seems that transformation is the go to for all of the CONUS. Good to know.
