I’d like to submit an enhancement request for ArcGIS Field Maps regarding the management of location profiles.
Currently, location profiles must be configured individually per user on each device. In our organization, we use shared work phones with high-accuracy GNSS receivers, and users log in with their own ArcGIS Online accounts. The issue is that each user must manually configure the location profile—even when all users share the same receiver, coordinate system, and transformation settings.
This creates significant administrative overhead and introduces risk of error in field collection workflows.
We would like to see the ability for an admin to define a location profile at the organization level in AGOL or Portal. Then, when users sign in to Field Maps, that location profile would be automatically available and selectable—reducing setup time and ensuring consistency across the organization.
Ideally, this could include:
Organization-defined default location profiles in AGOL/Portal
Option to restrict or enforce a specific profile
Visibility and edit access limited to administrators
This change would greatly benefit organizations with shared mobile devices and high-accuracy workflows.
