Enable snapping when using the Measure Distance Tool in Field Maps.
Without snapping, the measure distance tool is guess work and not accurate when measuring to or from features. I've heard this is being worked into an upcoming release but would like to get others to push for this too if you would benefit. Cheers!
Hey Debert. This is being worked on and is available in beta right now if you'd like to give it a spin. You can run the beta side-by-side with the released version.
To join the EAP and get access to the beta version, give this a read:

Hi @JeffShaner,
Thanks for bringing this feature into Field Maps. I’ve applied for the EAP and tested the new Measure Distance tool in the beta version of Field Maps. I do have some feedback: unfortunately, it only snaps to points, endpoints of lines, and line vertices.
Our organization really needs the Measure Distance snap feature in Field Maps to work the same way it does in AGOL—snapping to any part of a line.
If this functionality could be implemented in Field Maps as it is in AGOL, it would be extremely beneficial.
I appreciate all the work you do!
