unhighlight red feature after query

Hi, when I do a query the result features are highlighted in blue, but one of them -- whichever one is pointed at in the query box -- is highlighted in red. See attachment. Is there some way to give all the features equal status (all blue)? My issue is I want to take a screen capture of the map showing query results but I don't want to draw attention to one particular feature. Can't figure out how to do this.

Another problem, same context, is that if you close the query window you lose the query. I want to close or minimize the query window to get it out of the way so I can make a screen capture of a fairly zoomed in view of a large geographic area (the US) with the query results showing but not the query window.

Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim,
I'm afraid the answer is No to both your questions:

  • The currently selected query result is always shown in red

  • You cannot close or minimize the query results window and still retain the geographical selection in the map

I'll pass on your requirement to the other members of the Explorer Online team so that it can be considered for a future release.
Thanks
Mike

if you can create a feature layer from your map service you can filter it by defining a query and it will not show up in the highlighted color.  Similar to performing a Definition Query in ArcMap within layer properites.

To unhighlight the selected query result, hold down the command button (on my mac keyboard) and click on the selected row in the query result grid. This will unselect the row and change the symbol on the map back to blue.

I think it's the 'ctrl' key on a pc keyboard.
