Failed to add shapefile: unknown failure

Anyone know what this means? The shapefile works fine on three computers in my office but not on one. The coordinate system is good, all the files are there (.prj,.sbn,.sbx,.shp,.shx), and no issues on the other computers. I didn't see anyone else with this error online, just 'unknown coordinate system' but the coordinate system is fine...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Ok, then I'm not sure.

I can only think of one thing (if you're prone to the same kind of dumb mistakes as I am). It looks like your comp is hiding known extensions. Are you trying to add the "Project.shp.xml" file (which is appearing as "Project.shp")? It's a longshot, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Alternatively, could the file have been corrupted? I hope you find a solution!

Hi Tracy

Did you install the Projection Expansion pack with your AGX install? That's an optional install, not part of the standard install. It might be that your prj file is fine, but it's some specialized projection that AGX can't work with without the Projection Expansion pack.

If you care to email me the shapefile, I will try to add it and see what my AGX does with it. ellen.bryson@usace.army.mil
