Hi,

Is there any way for ArcGIS Explorer Desktop to use ten ten figure Ordnance Survey grif references instead of the co-ordinates?

Most of our data comes to us from members of the public, either on paper maps or as ten figure grid references and most of the data that goes out is as ten figure grid references. It would make the software much quicker and easier to use if there was no need to convert the co-ordinates externally.

I have tried the zoom to British National Grid reference add-in but it actually assumes that the grid reference starts in the centre of the grid square which is not the case. As such it places markers in the wrong place (up to 500m out!).

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Steve,

I also have a problem with British National Grid co-ordinates when using find as this only zoom to the correct location if I enter northings then eastings. Do you have this issue or and addin that might help? I hope you have found a solution to your problem.
