Hi everyone,
I’m working with the Draw widget in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder (ArcGIS Online) and have a question about where temporary drawings are stored.
I demonstrated to my team how users can draw on the map using the Draw widget, and they noticed that all drawings disappear when the page is refreshed. One of the key questions that came up was:
Where does the Draw widget store this temporary data before the page is refreshed?
From my understanding, the drawn graphics exist only in the web browser’s memory (client-side) and are not stored in a database or feature layer. However, I wanted to confirm whether this is correct
You posted your question on the ArcGIS Experience Builder Boards. Are you asking about Experience Builder or ArcGIS Web AppBuilder? These are two similar, but entirely separate products. ESRI is phasing out Web AppBuilder and replacing it with Experience Builder. I can send your post over to the Web AppBuilder Boards if you want help with that platform.
In Experience Builder, the drawings from the Draw Widget are in the browser memory with no way to permanently save them. It's not a feature on the 2025 Roadmap, but it might still be coming in a future release.
