Users in our Enterprise unable to export CSVs from Experience Builder

Hello,

I am encountering an issue where users in our environment are unable to export records from data in our Web Experiences. We have our Enterprise living behind a firewall and users interface with it in a "logged out" relationship with all of our critical applications/maps/and feature services being shared "publicly".

It appears that users are unable to export records from our web experiences but are able to from identical feature services hosted in web app builder applications.

I have gone through the data export settings and configuration in my web experiences and I am unsure how to allow them to do this. They only need to export as CSV so no need to have a creator license to "create" objects etc.

Is this a setting in MapViewer I need to configure? See below screenshots:

Logged out:

They can interface with the data in every other way. The option to export is simply missing, and only in Experience Builder. The webapps built in web app builder using these same map image layers/feature services work fine.

Thanks for any assistance,

Trevor

Hi @twilliamson_topv ,

If you are using a hosted / referenced feature service, there should be an Export data option in the item settings:

It should work if you enable the Export data option.

Please let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks,

Shengdi

Hi @ShengdiZhang ,

In this case, the data is coming from a Map Image Layer that is published to our Enterprise Portal.

The issue is, it looks like unless a user is logged in to our Portal, they cannot export ANY of our map data from Experiences. This is despite all these items being shared publicly.

Web AppBuilder apps allow export of these same items with no issue.

How could this be?

Hi @twilliamson_topv ,

Would you mind sharing your app and data with me? You can DM me if you do not want to share it publicly.

@ShengdiZhang

I am unable. Our Enterprise deployment is behind a firewall. These items are not on ArcGIS Online.

Let me know if this is something that I need to go through Esri support for.

To be clear, this has not been answered yet. I cannot find any settings that allow this and the Experience is indeed set up to export data. It works when I am logged in, no matter what account level, but when logged out, I am unable to export data, but can view/use the Experience.

What's their user permissions/role? The rights to export CSVs from a referenced layer are extremely high. I actually had to essentially make a 'Restricted Admin' user role to allow people who should otherwise just be Data Editors to export.

Happy mapping,

They are interfacing with these applications while "logged out". They do not have roles.

They are able to export data from our web applications, but not our web experiences.

There shouldn't be a difference in the behavior of data exporting of identical feature services between Experiences and WAb applications.

See attached screenshots for the missing export option in the Web Experience, but the option is available in the Web Application:
