Turn off layer when delete near me results

Hi,

I’m working with the experience builder in arcgis online and I’m trying to figure out how to achieve the following:

I want the user select a location on the map and get back as a result the features of a feature layer that are in a certain buffer distance from the location. For this I use the Near me widget and it works well except for an (important, for me) aspect: I want the analyzed layer automatically turn off when the user clear the proximity analysis result! Is this possible in some way? I can start the application with the layer not showing and make it appear after the proximity analysis, but it remains on the map when I clear the results and is not good for my purposes.

Thanks in advance

Hi @AlessioDiLorenzo,

near me.gif

Is this the desired result?

Thanks,

Hi @Ke_Xu and thanks for the answer.

Not really.

I need to actually turn on the filtered layer and see the features on the map when the widgets results are returned. Then, when the user delete the results the layer has to turn off by itself instead of remaining (not filtered) on the map.

May be in your example the filtered features are just highlighted but the layer is hidden and stays in this state when the widget proximity analys is performed. Is this the case?

Thank you

Hi @AlessioDiLorenzo,

ExB does not currently support this now.

You can submit this issue on the ArcGIS Experience Builder Ideas board.

Thanks,

Ke

Hi @Ke_Xu,

In my experience this is a very common requirement for webgis applications.

It would be great if this functionality will be added to ExB.

The query widget works almost like this, but it is focused on attributes. In this case it would be enough to add the configuration options for visualizing all the retrieved features (not paginated) and the buffer graphics on the map.

Bye

@AlessioDiLorenzo Any update on this? I have a Near Me function in an internal application that utilizes data from a 10.9 published service that interacts with a zoning layer that unselects the layer in the designed fashion and works. I have a public application pulling from a 11.5 service and the zoning layer stays turned on the table of contents after deselecting in the Near Me function. I am using ExB 1.18.

I cannot find a configurable difference between the two applications that will get the public application to behave as designed.

We are an organization that hosts and serves out data in different versions to support municipalities that may have vendor applications that consume 10.6 and up. I have found nuances in pop up and symbology behavior in the migration from WebApp builder to Experience builder. I am not sure if this is a version issue or some subtle setting in the published data, web map, or experience builder. Any word on this enhancement and if it is related and what version to look for it in?
