I am working with someone on a print template. They swear the field labelled "Date" is a string in ArcPro.

I see this same field in the Print widget:

No matter what I enter here, it is always overridden by a dateTime stamp:

Am I missing something obvious here?

Problem solved.

"Date" is a reserved word, and using it in a print template results in EB (not WAB) converting the string into a dateTime. Interesting behaviour all around. Changing the field to something else (Draft_Date in our case) resolved the issue.

This is one of those "I hate being right" cases.
