List Resizing Awkward

I for the life of me, cannot get this list to size appropriately. I get it sized for desktop but then it just becomes shrunk again for smaller windows/mobile/tablet. Then I make it big again and it's tiny. I've done Lists before and the settings are identical to other Lists and they are not acting like this. This is a new ExB in ArcGIS Online that I just started today. I don't want to do custom for each layout at least just yet. I just don't get what is causing it to scrunch! 😭

In the Browser (minimized screen and then full screen)

Then I refresh browser (full screen) ✔️

In the designer for desktop ✔️

In the designer for mobile/tablet

Settings (i've tried stetch, custom size etc etc, lock height/width, different arrangements, setting text and symbol to percent/auto/stretch/pixel)

I've noticed something too... when I create a brand new ExB with List I get a "drop down" to set auto here but in this exisiting ExB app I do not have a drop down. When I removed the List card and re-added it, I got that drop down. So not sure what happened... but I guess that's the solution!

Hi, @Teresa_Blader thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, we were not able to reproduce the issue on our end using your configuration. Could you try clearing your cache first? If that doesn’t help, could you share a reproducible app or contact Esri Support? Thanks!

Yeah, even after I cleared the browser cache. App is not public of course. Today only the designer is behaving this way and browser visualizes it fine. So then I am forced to turn off auto. If I turn it off auto... and then customize the sizes, then it changes in the designer. I don't get it.

What's weird too is that "Auto" is supposed to set that size for all three right? Then I change it to custom and change it.... then turn it back to auto and then it's fine... So it's like Auto isn't actually working.

Hi, @Teresa_Blader thanks for your response.

1.In the June 2026 update, we added support for Auto item height in the List widget under the Flow template. Item height can now adjust automatically based on the tallest text or image widget inside the item.
This dropdown appears only when the template is Flow and the layout is Row. Auto item height is not supported for ROW or Column templates.

2.Based on your screenshot, it looks like you are using the Row template. In that case, the item height dropdown for Auto should not appear.
Does the original issue still happen when you use the Row template?

3. When switching between different sizes, List widget settings should stay the same in Auto layout mode. If you click the Custom button next to page layout and then switch back to Auto, the item height is currently expected to change. We will follow up on this issue.

The Style Tab can be different for different screen sizes. Check to see if they are all set to same values.
