Is it possible to edit a current widget?

There is a Query Widget that allows users to export to cvs, json or geojson file. Is there anyway I could edit this widget and instead of having it export to one of those three options, allow users to export to KML? Is there anyway I could find the code for this? I am not a experienced developer or programmer so any points or directions would be great! Thanks!

Yes! That particular widget is located at:

{INSTALL_DIRECTORY}\client\dist\widgets\arcgis\query\src

 Though you will likely find significant knowledge of development is a prerequisite.
