Hello, is there a way to make a reporter type of app within Web Experience Builder and not Instant Apps?
I would like more functionality, but I do like the fact that you can see prexisting reports and the way that you can easily add points is nice. I tried the edit feature widget, but it does not have exactly what I'm looking for
Hi, @sophered I don't think there is a reporter type capability in Exb yet. Is there a reason for choosing exb over instant apps for reporter functionality? And could you brief on that exactly you're looking for in that's not in edit widget?
Hi @SubaKrishnan ! There are a few things in the reporter function that are different from the edit widget. I'm looking for that ease of adding new features for the end-user. The "Report an Incident" button very easily allows users to add features, and is very straightforward. I like that there is a list of "reports" that can be chosen from and that related records can be added easily through "comments," I am looking into having a functionality in which these comments can be reviewed first then displayed. Similar to the citizen reporter solution but much simpler. As for using Instant Apps vs. Exb, I'm just looking for increased interactivity with the map. It would be nice if there was a "reporter widget" within Exb, just so that more things can be done with it! I was originally trying to see if there was a way to almost 'mimic' the functionality of reporter within experience builder!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes, reporter and edit have different workflows and functionality, and we don't have any current plans to have a similar report widget in ExB. Also, the citizen problem reporter solution will have an update to it soon with reporter and manager instant apps in it.
Could you clarify? "I am looking into having a functionality in which these comments can be reviewed first then displayed".
I'll pass on your feedback to ExB team as well!
Thank you! To clarify, I am unsure if it is possible to have comments (related records) visible on the Instant Apps Reporter widget, but it would be a nice addition if not! For our use, in order for these comments to show, it would have to go through a review process (most likely, just a field that indicates review status). Is there a way to make comments show in the Instant Apps reporter?
Hi, @sophered Once a report has a comment to it, it appears at the bottom like shown in the image below. User can learn more about the comment but clicking on the arrow.
In the screenshot, I don't see the comments but looks like there's one comment submitted. Could you look into how its configured? If you notice a bug, let me know or please submit a bug through esri support.
This may or may not be a bug. I have the commenting toggled on, however I dont have it toggled for likes and dislikes (because it may not be applicable for what I need). It allows me to submit comments but not view them.
It does not seem to give me any option to click on the comment symbol and it does not automatically show comments.
@sophered You could check the table in map viewer or rest endpoint to make sure the comments are added. I think there is something wrong with the way relationship is set-up and thats why its not showing up on the comments section, but it appears to be added. If you can share the map and app I can look into it.
Have you considered Survey123? That should do what you are looking for.
It has a widget to embed surveys, and a new widget in 1.15 for Feature Reports.
I have been looking into it! I'm not entirely sure if I like how it adds new features though. Particularly the "double map" that you can see in the image (map in survey + map in exb). I would like it to interact with the main map instead of having them add a new record within the survey. Is there a way to work around this possibly?
