Hello,
We are switching our GIS Viewer from WAB to EB. We want to use the Feature Info widget instead of allowing pop-ups on the map, because you can move the widget around. The problem we have with the Feature Info widget is it will not pull information for all layers in the area clicked like a pop-up does. It seems like it is only selecting the top layer.
For example, you are looking at your property and want to know what school district you are in. You turn on the School District layer under the Jurisdiction Boundaries group, but you cannot tell which district it is, and you are no where near the center of the district, so you cannot see the label (another problem). If you try to click on the School District polygon and select it in the drop-down menu of the Feature Info widget, it will show as No data, because the map is only displaying the data for the Parcel polygon that is on top of the School District polygon.
Is there something we are missing to get all the layers' information to show in the Feature Info widget? Why be able to include multiple layers in the Feature Info widget if it is only going to show information for the top layer?
That is how the Feature Info Widget is designed. The Dev Team is aware that there is user demand to make the Feature Info Widget into a popup replacement, but it's unclear when it will actually happen.
There is an option in the Map Widget to dock your popups, if that helps.
And if you are on Developer Edition, there is a custom widget for this purpose.
Thank you for your response! I was afraid that may be the case. We have a work around, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something we missed. It is still confusing why they would allow for there to be a drop down menu for multiple features if you can only view the top layer.
