So I have been anxiously awaiting the new release of ArcGIS Online Experience Builder so that I may start migrating some of my apps over with some added functionality. Much to my dismay, the most needed "Add Data" widget does not support KML or KMZ files like the previous version in Web App Builder. Is this in the plan to be supported? The whole purpose of the web apps I build is to put this geospatial data in the hands of people whose GIS user knowledge is limited to Google Earth and similar programs. As much as I hate KMLs and KMZs they are a necessary evil. Please add support for KML and KMZ files to the "Add Data" widget in experience builder.

The "Add Data Widget" is a great new addition to Experience Builder.  Thank you to the team for getting this long awaited tool up and going.  I am excited to finally be able to get my Apps into Experience Builder.

In addition to the ability to upload KML/KMZ files (Hopefully this is easy because It appears KML can be added as a URL location) here are a few other tweaks the widget needs.

1. If "Select from Account" is enabled the default search choice is "My content".   Users with only "Viewer" accounts will most likely have nothing listed under "My content".  Previously in Web App Builder it defaulted to "My Organization".   Please either allow the widget default to be set in widget configuration, or default to "My Organization" for non public facing maps.  Having to explain to viewer users that they have to change this setting first to find and add the organization's data, adds an unnecessary layer of complexity to the tool.

2. Only a small portion of the top left corner of the Feature Layer thumbnail image is shown in the list of data to add.   Many organizations, including ESRI, have invested considerable effort into creating thumbnail images for their feature layers to make them easier for users to identify.   This widget needs to show the full thumbnail or there is no reason to show the thumbnail at all.

3. The ability to select multiply feature layers in the "Add data" list is great.   Although the indication that a layer has been selected from the list is (in my opinion) too subtle.  It simply changes the border from light gray to a slightly darker gray and adds a small gray triangle in the upper right corner.    In a long list of data layers this slight visual change quickly gets lost.   I would suggest a more bold outline for selected layers or even a background colour change to make it more obvious.

Thanks again for adding the widget and hopefully with a few more tweaks it will be even better.

The Add data widget is not included in the enterprise 11.1 version. It will be a part of the forthcoming enterprise version 11.2.

Was the Add data widget successfully implemented in the 11.2 version?

@WGIMaps @TimAlbert Thank you for using the widget! Your feedbacks are under consideration. Most of them will be included in the 2023 R02 release.

When adding files, shapefiles are limited to 4,000 records, 2 MB and must be zipped. CSV’s are limited to 1,000 records and 10 MB and must contain spatial information that the application can detect, such as location coordinates. GeoJSON is limited to 4,000 records and 1 MB. If you attempt to upload data that exceeds the maximum thresholds, you will receive the below error message .
I WANT TO CUSTOMIZE THIS PLEASE HELP .
