Hey All,
I'm trying to use the draw widget to calculate angles in the web app. The functionality is getting me what I want, but as we distribute this app throughout the company, I'd prefer all functionality to be right in front of the users without having to click around. This is where my issue begins. When you open the draw widget, select "Draw a Polyline", and start drawing you have 4 values: Deflection, Distance, Z, and Total Length. To get the angle measurement you need to start drawing, click the Tab button, switch Direction Mode to Absolute, and then you can see the angles. Does anyone know how to set the default of the Direction Mode to Absolute right away? This is where I'd prefer my users to not have to go through all those steps just to see an angle measurement. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I don't know how to do that, but would also like to see different units available. Especially for length, please let us change that to feet. Thank you.
Hello @ClintOffutt, different users would see different units, depending on their unit settings:
Hey Clint, within Experience Builder Developer Edition, you do have the ability to change your units - assuming you're using the draw tool instead of the measurement tool. You'll need to turn on "Enable measurement" under the Options section. Then when you open the Draw widget you'll have the ability to change your units.
Hi, that is not the part of the tool I am interested in having ESRI modify. I am referring to the "tool tips" contraints. That part of the tool is only available in map units and I think both distance and direction units should be able to be toggled. Again, this is on the advanced options for the Draw tool allowing tool tips which allow for interactive contraints. However, as I have proven in other posts, these measurements are not accurate even when using precise contraints, so I guess what's the point?!
Hi @TJK5, the tooltip tool is an out-of-the-box component, which doesn't accept pre-configurations.
That's a shame.
We're planning to add the ability to pre-configure the direction mode. It would be a bit tricky for the units, as we also need to deal with the organisational settings.
